Lionism has a long tradition in our region. The LC Biel Bienne has been a large and established club for many years and the LC Magglingen is another active club in the wider Biel area. Both clubs have exclusively male members, which is why two members of LC Biel Bienne decided to found a mixed club to complement the range of service clubs in the region.

With 22 founding members, 12 women and 10 men, the new club was launched on 16 May 2009. After more than 10 years of existence, the club now has 32 members and is endeavouring to increase its membership by one or two new members every year. The aim is to achieve a balanced mix of genders and the two languages German and French.

Tradition and modernity are the two central elements that characterise the club. Traditional action manifests itself in our desire to realise the Lions Club credo "we serve" as closely as possible. To this end, we actively support national and regional humanitarian and social projects. Modernity, in turn, reveals itself in a certain looseness that characterises the club.

The club tackles projects, events and meetings in an efficient and dynamic manner and the whole club life takes into account the living and working habits of the members in a contemporary way. In this small community, which is reorganised every year, members should feel comfortable and be able to come together in a pleasant setting.

We look forward to moving the club forward in this spirit and wish it a long and successful future.
